Engagement Christmas Tree

Justin and I set up the Christmas tree yesterday.

Last year was our first Christmas together and has so many good memories.

One memory in particular was Justin's amazement with the amount of ornaments, decorations and stuff I was bringing into the relationship. Each ornament that was pulled out of the box had its own separate memory for me. I didn't realize at the time what was going through Justin's mind until this ornament in particular was in his hand ready to go on the tree...

He looked at me and smiled then looked back at the ornament and smiled. I laughed when I saw which one he was looking at and at the same moment we decided this would be our ornament to have a new memory.

This year my parents got us an engagement ornament. It is a pewter heart that reads

for love ~ for life ~ for keeps ~ for real

Now our tree is complete... until next year ;)

Just a thought - next time you look at your tree try to count all life's moments that get summed up into each ornaments memory that is honored once a year.
