The Engagement...

How did we get engaged?

I've been asked this question several times since October 24, 2008. Each time that I share this story the same joy, excitement, happiness, newness comes back all over again.

Oct. 24th was a typical Friday workday for me. Get the job done watch the clock a couple extra times to see if the end of the day had arrived yet. This particular day was a busy one for me right down to the end to still leave on time.

Rachel my good friend and coworker asked me to stop by her office at the end of the day. I walked up still clueless as to what was coming next. When I got to her office she pulled out two long stem individually wrapped roses. Each rose had a note....

One Yellow - "Your my Best Friend!"

One Pink - "Not only do I Love You, but I Admire the person you are!"

So now I can't stop smiling... I give Rachel a hug and hurried to my car. And much to my surprise was another long stem wrapped rose with the following...

One Orange - "Your an amazing Person, and I will be Proud to call you my wife!"

Ok so put yourself in my shoes for a minute. I know have received three beautiful roses and 3 amazing wonderful notes to go along with them AND I'm expected to DRIVE???

Getting home took all the concentration I could muster at this point... looking back its a good thing I didn't know what was waiting for me :)

I get home, open the door and see Justin. He is waiting dressed up standing by a dozen red roses. The music and lights were on.... the words that he spoke to me in that moment summed up the feelings we've had for each other since June '07 but this time it was different we talked confidently about a future that we have now agreed to share with each other.

The trail of roses was perfect, the ring is perfect to go along with this I will have an amazing husband starting May 2nd 2009.
